Suzy Coyle
filmmaker

I love acting, writing, dancing, music, poetry, painting and photography.
That is why I became a filmmaker. Film is the ultimate medium that combines
everything. I made my first film nineteen years ago at the age of twenty.
I have been involved with all aspects of filmmaking ever since, and attended
The Strasberg Film Institute in 2005 becoming a contributor in the digital
film revolution. I was mentored by the great Hungarian artist Tibor Jankay,
who showed me that creating art is not a job but a calling. I am first and
foremost a storyteller and I attempt to create visual poetry. Filmmaking is
in my genes.  My Grandfather, Jack Coyle, got his start in early Hollywood
with Buster Keaton working on THE GENERAL. My Father, John Coyle, worked as
an editor for Universal on such classics as Petticoat Junction and The Beverly
Hillbillies. I am carrying on the family tradition and the love of filmmaking.
I am very influenced by the European filmmakers of past and especially love
the spirit and spontaneity  of French new wave style.
